MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) introduces the new Jet Black Mica color to the Mitsubishi Strada Athlete.

Complementing the Black Mica shade is a blacked-out rear spoiler and front bumper. Inside, the Strada Athlete's orange leather seat wears black accents to blend with the theme.

Other dark-colored parts of the pickup truck include its Dynamic Shield grille, side mirrors, styling bar, and 18-inch alloy wheels

Meanwhile, providing contrast to the monotony are the Strada Athlete's red and gray side decals that extend from the rear doors up to the tailgate.

The Strada Athlete comes with safety features to ensure a worry-free drive.

The truck is equipped with Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), which provides both visual and audible driver warnings that help prevent accidents.

The Ultrasonic Misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) prevents pedal misapplication.

Additionally, Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Assist (BSW with LCA) provides both visual and audible warnings for the driver when an adjacent vehicle is concealed in its blind spots.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) alerts the driver of any oncoming vehicle when reversing out of a parking spot.

For safety under heavy loads, the Strada Athlete is also equipped with Mitsubishi Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC) and Trailer Stability Assist. Ramps and steep slopes are dealt with using the pickup’s Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.

Available in two- or four-wheel drive, the Strada Athlete is motivated by a 2.4-liter MIVEC Turbo Clean Diesel engine, which produces 181hp and 430Nm. A six-speed automatic transmission is mated to the engine “for a convenient drive even within city traffic,” Mitsubishi said.

“The addition of the new Jet Black Mica color option is our way of providing more choices for our customers. We believe that a vehicle is more than just a tool of transportation but a reflection of their characteristics," MMPC President and CEO Takeshi Hara said.

"With this in mind, we are committed to provide alternatives that will best represent their personality and further enhance ownership experience,” he added.
